PUDUCHERRY/CHENNAI: A class IX student allegedly committed suicide after her parents reprimanded her over a quarrel with her younger sister. She was identified as Anandalakshmi (14), a resident of Ashok Nagar in Puducherry.Woman’s Body Found The body of an unidentified woman was found with strangulation marks on the neck and injury to the head in the Madhavaram Milk Colony police limits in Chennai, early on Sunday morning.According to the police, a lorry driver who was passing by, had found the woman’s body around 1.30 am on Sunday and informed the police. The woman, aged between 45 and 50 years, was wearing a red saree and blouse. The back of her head was injured and she also had a cut on her left ear. Police suspect that it could have been caused when someone tried to snatched her earring. The earring on the other ear was also missing, sources said, while adding that she was also wearing a beaded neckpiece.Police, who conducted an inquiry with local residents, said none could identify the woman; the cause of death was also unknown. “She looked like she had not eaten for days and had marks on her neck, indicating that she was strangled. However, we will know only after the post-mortem examination,” a police official said.After sending the body for a post mortem, the police registered a case under section 174CrPC. An inquiry is on.
