'Ghanchakkar' Tweet Review: First day, first show
Rajkumar Gupta, who is known for making serious films like 'Aamir' and 'No One Killed Jessica' tries his hand in comedy for the first time.

The last time Vidya Balan and Emraan Hashmi worked together in a film, the film ('The Dirty Picture') went on to become one of the biggest grossers of 2011. The film also catapulted Vidya Balan into the superstar league.

The two actors, with some superhit films tucked neatly under their belt, come together once again in Rajkumar Gupta's 'Ghanchakkar'. A situational comedy, the film also features Rajesh Sharma and Namit Das in pivotal roles.

Rajkumar Gupta, who is known for making serious films like 'Aamir' and 'No One Killed Jessica' tries his hand in comedy for the first time. Having earned accolades for his first two films, Gupta tries to shift out of his comfort zone and narrate a story of a bank robberer who has a problem in remembering most things around him.

It is also Vidya's first movie post the success of 'Kahaani' so expectations are high from this versatile actress. Her look in the film has already grabbed eyeballs and it would be interesting to see this Tamilian play a boisterous Punjabi woman.

So will 'Ghanchakkar' be able to live up to the expectations? Will Emran get a make over of sorts post this film?

9:33 AM: Good morning! Vidya Balan and Emran Hashmi's #Ghanchakkar releases today. We will be reviewing it soon. Stay tuned!

10:03 AM: Vidya Balan and Emran Hashmi delivered a hit the last time they appeared together in a film. Will #Ghanchakkar be able to do that well?

10:12 AM: Okay the opening credits are damn cute! Nicely done. #Ghanchakkar

10:15 AM: "10 crore" "10 crore kya?" "Bihar ki abaadi" #Ghanchakkar

10:26 AM: Haha! This bank robber takes permission from his wife before robbing a bank. #Ghanchakkar

10:44 AM: Rajkumar Gupta always has very strong roles for character actors. #Ghanchakkar has Namit Das and Rajesh Sharma in prominent roles.

10:54 AM: Okay, the pace of the film is pretty slow. #Ghanchakkar

11:23 AM: One and half hours into the movie only but seems longer. At interval #Ghanchakkar seems slow with extremely subtle humour.

11:48 AM: Rajesh Sharma. The man is good, really good #Ghanchakkar

12:12 PM: The pace picks up at the fag end of the film. #Ghanchakkar

12:27 PM: A film should be judged on the basis of its climax. And #Ghanchakkar's climax is superb.

12:28 PM: You need to be patient while watching #Ghanchakkar. Its slow, takes leisurely pace to establish the plot.

12:31 PM: The humour is very subtle. It has quirky moments but the film isn't a laugh riot. #Ghanchakkar

12:33 PM: Emraan Hashmi as the fogetful Sanju gives a restraint performance. He is the central character, not Vidya. #Ghanchakkar

12:34 PM: But just like Rajkumar Gupta's other films, its the character actors Rajesh Sharma and Namit Das who outshine the leads.

12:35 PM: #Ghanchakkar is made in the way Hrishikesh Mukherjee's films were used to be. But it isn't a patch on Mukherjee's films.

12:36 PM: Thanks for being with us throughout the review of #Ghanchakkar. Have a super weekend ahead!
