In India alone, 3,500 principals will be trained under the leadership programme. There is very little or negligible training programme for the school principals in developing countries such as India. Therefore, there is a pressing need of leadership training for principals.Padmashri recipient Dubai-based Indian businessman Sunny Varkey, also founder of the Varkery GEMS Foundation and Chairman of GEMS Education, said at the launch of the initiative, “Education is the most important issue in India today. The fact that millions of children do not have access to education is intolerable.
