HYDERABAD: The State Bank of India (SBI) launched another Self Service Kiosk (SSK) machine, a self-banking facility, at its ATM centre at Gachibowli here on Tuesday. Speaking to media persons after the inauguration at its Corporate Salary Branch’s SBI ATM centre, AP SBI general manager Rakesh Sharma said that they will set up 1,000 SSK machines in its ATM centres across the country by March 2012. SSK is a user-friendly computer terminal which can be operated by a customer using an ATM-cum-debit card to conduct 16 types of transactions round-the-clock.  “Customers will be relieved of waiting in queues for their turn to be served for routine transactions,” Rakesh said. The SSKs provide transactions like funds transfer, passbook printing, cheque book request, balance inquiry, account summary, mobile top-up and mobile bill payment, mini statements, statement of account, mobile banking registration, internet banking registration, stop cheque payment, SMS alert registration, National Electronic Fund Transfer (NEFT), bill payment, mobile number and e-mail address update and opening of term deposits. “Additional functionalities like railway ticket booking and SBI life premium payment would be added,” Rakesh said. The newly inaugurated Gachibowli SSK is the fourth SSK in Hyderabad after Vanasthalipuram, Vidyanagar, Ramanthpur and Gandhinagar.
