BANGALORE: Inaugurating the Federation of Karnataka Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FKCCI) ‘Food and Hospitality and the Travel and Tourism Expo 2012, Home and Transport Minister R Ashok spoke about the importance of all service industries coming together. “This is a great event and both food and tourism industry being in the service sector, it is a good idea for the industries to work together. Such events will give a boost to both the forums and will help expand the horizon of those working under the umbrella of food and tourism sector,” said Ashok.Both the trade fairs put together an international platform with hundreds of stalls in all the segments. While the travel and tourism fair highlighted the various projects and activities that would help in developing the travel and tourism of India, the Food Pro & Hospitality Expo put together the developments and progress achieved in the processed food and hospitality sectors on a well divided segmented platform.Held at Palace Grounds, the four-day fair attracted both industry personnel, B2B companies and also common Bangaloreans because of the wide gamut of products and services available. The Foodpro & Hospitality 2012 put together all the positive developments made in this industry. “This platform will showcase the progress in the processed food and hospitality sector, through an ambit of display covering products, technologies and services,” said the organisers at the outset of the fair. Government officials showcasing at the event reiterated that schemes involve setting up of food parks, packaging centres, integrated cold chain facilities and value-added centres.
