Overcrowded Indian trains are a familiar sight, but who could have imagined the premier Vande Bharat Express sharing the same fate? Yes, you read that right—ticketless passengers infiltrated the luxurious train! According to a video making waves on the internet, a coach of the Vande Bharat Express, which runs between Lucknow Junction and Dehradun, showed many standing and crowding inside the train.
In the clip shared on ‘X’, the premium Vande Bharat Express is seen standing at a platform, while the person behind the camera captures travellers cramming into a coach. In another clip, the aisle is so packed that there’s hardly any room to walk. It looked no different from a general quota train, yet this was THE Vande Bharat Express!
Now Premium Vande Bharat is also facing the same fate as other trains. We do not need a puppet Railway Minister, we need a new Railways which is at least accountable. pic.twitter.com/1V5NwiavQI

The video quickly went viral, sparking a wave of public commentary. One user taunted, “Implement metro system in every railway station , no card , no tickets , no platform tickets no entry.” Another remarked, “First, Vande Bharat train system must have dedicated special Railway Police. What is the purpose of buying tickets worth Thousands.”
A third user chimed in, “There has to be population control measures taken at bpl levels. Its there where we have a huge increase in birth rates. This is causing the ruckus that fair paying citizens have to pay for. Free loading has to stop. At every level.” Meanwhile, a fourth commented, “We needed affordable multiple superfast trains for every 300 kms , instead we got super priced super fast trains which the middle class couldn’t afford to step in and only serves the top 10%, and the irony is these 10% prefer flights over these trains.”

Meanwhile, this isn’t the first complaint about the Vande Bharat Express to surface online. Earlier, a frustrated traveller voiced dissatisfaction with the food quality on the luxury train. In a post (previously tweet) that quickly gained traction, the passenger shared images comparing the food served during the train’s inaugural run to the “stale” food currently provided.
Indeed, the Vande Bharat Express, despite its premier status, is facing challenges that one would hardly expect from such a prestigious service.
