A scandal has emerged with 54-year-old Pakistani national Minhaj Hussain who was working as the cook at the official residence of Saad Ahmad Warraich, the Charge D’Affaires at the Pakistan High Commission in New Delhi, allegedly trying to molest an Indian woman.
The victim was hired as a domestic help at the residence of Warraich and she was living in the servant quarters of the diplomat’s official residence at Tilak Marg, New Delhi.
Hussain who was also living there was allegedly misbehaving with her since his arrival in India in February, constantly demanding sexual favours and making obscene advances.
According to sources, after Minhaj attempted to molest the woman, she complained to Warraich but he quietly sent Hussain to Pakistan on the pretext of Bakrid.
They added that afterwards, the Pakistan High Commission asked the woman to leave the job and Warraich’s residence by June 30.
The victim who is a widow and had to work for her children was shaken by this treatment.
She felt even worse when Hussain returned from Pakistan and started working in Warraich’s house again.
Thereafter, she went to Tilak Marg Police Station on June 28 and filed a complaint against the alleged indecent behaviour of Minhaj Hussain.
Delhi Police immediately registered an FIR under Section 354 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) against Minhaj Ahmed Hussain on the basis of the complaint.
Hussain was living in India on an official passport and visa. Sensing trouble, he was sent back to Pakistan on June 30.
