HYDERABAD: Three out of six ramps constructed for smooth traffic movement on the PV Narasimha Rao Elevated Expressway have still not been opened for traffic, even after three months.Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority officials say they are waiting for the chief minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy to give a date for their inauguration. The ramps could not be opened earlier because service roads for the ramps had not been laid. However, now the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation has completed the laying of service roads.Speaking to Express, HMDA officials admitted that three ramps, two up ramps at Lakshmi Nagar and Aramghar and a down ramp at Hydernagar near Upparpally were completed more than three months back and presently they were waiting to opened by the chief minister. Because of non-opening of these ramps, four-wheelers and two-wheelers are driving in the wrong direction leading to minor accidents and even minor scuffles between motorists. For the remaining three ramps, works have been hampered due to issues such as shifting of a place of worship and of underground water pipelines and electricity lines and due to delay in handing over a land belonging to defence authorities.
