Ex ACP appeals against life term in CP shootout case
Rathi says he did not fire a single shot and cannot be punished for murder.

New Delhi: Former ACP of Delhi S S Rathi has appealed against the life sentence granted to him by a lower court in CP shootout case.

In his appeal, Rathi says he did not fire a single shot and cannot be punished for murder.

The Delhi High court is expected to hear the appeal on Monday. S S Rathi and nine other policemen were found guilty of killing Pradip Goel and Jagjit Singh in the heart of the Capital in a shootout 10 yrs ago.

They were shot dead in their car and a third passenger, Tarun Preet Singh survived.

The Patiala House Court refused to buy the theory of 'mistaken identity' floated by the police in their attempt to cover up the shootout.
