BANGALORE: TATA Swach in association with the Centre for Sustainable Development (CSD) is organising and hosting ‘Bangalore Water Walkathon’ on the 5th of this month, in a bid to spread awareness and bring focus on ‘safe water for all’. The event, which is open to public, is expected to attract more than 5000 participants. Speaking about the event, Dr A Ravindra, chairman of CSD said, “The Bangalore Water Walkathon will create awareness on water safety, quality, health and its importance amongst the general citizen. We appreciate Tata Swach for joining hands with us in driving this Walkathon.”Personalities from the field of film, sports, arts and culture, business and other dignitaries are expected to take part in this Walkathon, which has the theme ‘Safe Water for All’.The event aims at safe water messaging among participants in the form of their costume, banners, posters etc. Different contests for participants, related to water, like theme, messaging, costume and so on are a part of this event. Participants are encouraged to wear water costumes and carry creative works that centre on safe water. The contest categories includes best posters design, best poster message and best costume. The Walkathon will be flagged off from Vidhana Soudha at 7 am covering a total distance of 3 kilometres, starting and finishing in Vidhana Soudha
