DGCA announces new rules to fight fog
The DGCA announced non-Category 3 flights will be allowed only after 10 am.

New Delhi: Following the delay of flights due to fog on Sunday, the Centre announced new measures to mitigate flight delays.

The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) Chief Nasim Zaidi announced that non-Category 3 flights will be allowed only after 10 am.

Zaidi told that Only 2100 of 4000 pilots in India are Category 3 trained and only 300 of 410 aircraft are Category 3 capable

Also, airlines will be asked not to board passengers if visibility is less than 120 metres.

On Sunday, 38 flight were canceled and 28 domestic flights and 14 international flight were diverted due to fog.
