New Delhi: In a major mishap in the capital, a girl lost both her legs after she was hit by an approaching metro train. The incident took place on Friday night at the Rajiv Chowk metro station.
The victim has been identified as 22-year-old Mehz Abeen.
According to reports, the accident occurred when the girl lost her balance amidst heavy rush on the platform and fell on the track.
Another person, identified as Birju, who was rushing to board the train also fell on the track and got hit by the train. One of his legs has been amputed.
The two were already hit before the driver could stop the train by applying emergency brakes. Both were rushed to the nearby Ram Manohar Lohia hospital. The police is yet to record the statements of victims.
