New Delhi: The Blueline menace continues on the streets of Delhi. In yet another mishap, a CISF inspector was crushed to death by a charging bus in Delhi's ITO area on Tuesday.

Thirty-six-year old Rahul Sharma was riding his motorcycle when a Blueline bus plying on the Ring Road hit him from behind. He died on the spot. The driver of the bus fled from the scene.

The accident is the latest in a series of deadly accidents involving the buses.

The Delhi government recently put up a camp for checking Bluelines and only those buses that passed the tests are allowed to ply on Delhi roads.

The Delhi Transport Corporation operates about 3,100 buses in the Capital, while about 3,900 are run by private operators as Bluelines.

In addition, 1,400 mini buses or RTV buses also operate as stage carriages.

While the number of DTC buses is expected to go up to 5,000 by next year, the Delhi Government intends to bring in an equal number of private buses for city operations through the corporate and cooperative route.
