New Delhi: Indian men's doubles pair of Harinder Pal Sandhu and Sandeep Jangra got the better of Issy Norman Ross and Zephanie Curgenven from Guernsey 8-11 11-4 11-3 to help India made a good start in the Squash event of the Commonwealth Games here on Saturday.

In a 26 minutes clash, the eleventh seeded Indians maintained their focus to the optimum throughout the match to score a deserving three-games victory over their lesser-known opponents at the Siri Fort complex here.

It was business as usual for both Sandhu and Jangra, who were classy in their approach and execution of shots and dead drops for winners in all three games, which they won without much resistance.

Top seeded English pair of Nick Matthew, who on Friday won the gold medal in the singles event, and Adrian Grant displayed some of their famed dead drop winners to reduce their opponents to a mere spectator.

The English pair scored a fluent 11-1 11-4 victory over unseeded Cay Island's pair of Malton Blair and Alex Frazer.
