A 30-year-old man surrendered before the Judicial Magistrate Court in Sholinghur on Thursday, in connection with the murder of a union councillor of Sriperumbudur few days ago.
According to police, Joesph Wilfred of Chennai surrendered before the JM court in Sholinghur, in connection with the murder case of Kumaran (33), union councillor of Sriperumbudur. He was brutally murdered by a gang on October 1 in Sriperumbudur police station limit. The magistrate directed the police to remand Joesph Wilfred under judicial custody.
Joseph Wilfred was the second person to have surrendered in the case. On Wednesday, Selvakumar (33) of Chennai had surrendered before the the Katpadi court in connection with Kumaran’s murder case and had been remanded under judicial custody. He had been lodged in the Vellore Central Prison for Men, police sources said.
