KOCHI: The police have gathered clear-cut evidence about the involvement of Shobha John in the Varapuzha sex scandal in which a gang was functioning in a rented house at Ollanadu in Ernakulam district.The investigating officer, Circle Inspector KG Babu Kumar, told Express that Shobha John had acted as the conduit to provide girls to the gang."The police have gathered several evidence against her and we are trying to track her down, so that we can take her for questioning. She along with several others are involved in the case," he added.The police have arrested two persons along with the girl on Thursday. The girl has submitted before the police that her mother had sold her for Rs 1 lakh to Shobha John in Thiruvananthapuram last year.Later, Shobha John presented her before many people during the last one year. The police arrested Rajan Nair, a 68-year-old retired colonel of Thiruvananthapuram, and Binil Kumar, 38, a Neyyatinkkara native, from Varapuzha on Thursday and were presented before the Aluva first class magistrate on Friday.The police will also arrest Salini, a Thiruvananthapuram native, who rented the house. The Circle Inspector said that the other accused including Shobha John had switched off their mobile and police are trying to track them.Shobha John is an accused in the Thantri controversy in 2006.
