Mumbai: Mumbai Police on Tuesday announced Rs 2.5 lakh reward for anybody who gives information on the serial killer suspect. The police suspect one man is behind three murders that took place in Mumbai's Kurla area over the last five months. The victims were all young girls, who were raped before being killed.
Police had on Sunday released the sketch of the serial killer after they found decomposed bodies of three minor girls.
The sketch were released after the body of a nine-year-old girl was found in Kurla on Saturday – the third in the area recently.
The body was found in a slum by local residents who broke into the hut after a foul smell was noticed.
The girl's feet were found tied with a wire and her clothes were strewn around her body. The body has been identified as that of Nusrat Shaikh who had gone missing while playing outside her house last week.
In the earlier cases, the girls were raped and murdered and their bodies were dumped on building terraces. Police suspect that the third victim was raped before she was killed.
