KOCHI: The Parents Association of the Naval Children School has expressed serious concern over hiking the school fees without any prior notice. "Last year the fees for class 1 to 5 was Rs1,500 per month and Rs1,750 for classes up to 10. The fees for class 11 and 12 was Rs 2000. Now, all students, irrespective of the Class in which they study, have to pay Rs 3000 every month" they said. They alleged that the same criteria has not come into effect for the children of Navy officials.
The discrimination of the school management is a violation of Supreme Court rule against the cross subsidy. "The decision has to be withdrawn at the earliest," they said. They also alleged that their children are illtreated at the school. "The children of those people who have reacted against this discrimination are being constantly threatened," they alleged.
