CHENNAI: A woman was found murdered at her house at Pulianthope on Friday. The police have launched a search for a man suspected of being her paramour.According to the police, Kala, a neighbour of the woman, Suryakala (32) saw her lying on a bed when she peeped in through the window of her house at Demellows Road, Pulianthope. Kala then tried knocking on the door, but to no avail.The police were subsequently alerted. Suryakala, who was working as a household help, was married to Balagurudas, a painter. The couple had three children, including two teenage daughters. The painter, who had suspected his wife’s fidelity, had vacated the house with the kids, police said.According to sources, the Pulianthope police, who arrived at the spot, checked Suryakala’s mobile phone in the house and traced the last call that she had made. When they dialled the number, said to be of a man, they found that it was switched off. The cops then traced the number to an address in Kolathur that was used to purchase the sim card. But, it later came to light that the address the man had given was a fake one. Through Suryakala’s neighbours, the police found out that the same man often used to visit the house.The police, who suspect the man’s involvement in the murder, have launched a search for him.Burmese Found Dead A Burmese crew member on board the anchored ship OSM Arena was found dead under mysterious circumstances on Friday.Burmese citizen Kian Dow, 55, was among the 14 new sailors who had arrived recently in the city to take up new jobs on the ship. The body has been sent b ythe Harbour police for a postmortem.
