New Delhi: Eminent lawyer and former law minister Ram Jethmalani on Monday claimed that the charge of corruption against Italian businessman Ottavio Quattrocchi cannot ever be sustained and forewarned that the Central investigating agency is going to draw a blank in Argentina.
Hitting out at the CBI for the manner in which it pursued the Bofors case, he said: "The CBI will draw a blank in Argentina after losing a lot of money of this poor nation."
"No court is likely to extradite a person more than 20 years after the offence," he said.
Quattrocchi has been arrested "not because of the CBI, but in spite of them. Carelessly, they forgot to withdraw the red-corner notice," Jethmalani said.
It was Jethmalani who had defended the Hinduja brothers in the same case and says he had the opportunity to look into the case against the Italian businessman while handling the Hinduja case.
