Call centre employee commits suicide

New Delhi:A 26-year-old call centre employee allegedly committed suicide at her rented accommodation, police said on Monday.

Ekta, living in a rented accommodation in Jiya Sarai, Hauz Khas, was found hanging from the ceiling by a girl living in the adjoining room on Sunday night, said the police.

The girl informed the landlord, Hari Chand from whom Ekta had taken the room on rent just five months back , who called the police.

The door was locked from inside and the Police had to break the door open to get inside.

The motive behind Ekta taking the extreme step was not immediately known as no suicide note was recovered from the site of incident.

Sources said there were problems in her family and her parents were living separately because of which she was tense. Nearly a year back Ekta's younger sister had also committed suicide, sources added.

Her parents live in Mukherjee Nagar area, police said, adding that she was preparing for some competitive examinations.
