New Delhi: Law Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad today asked officials in his ministry to bring out structural changes in work culture so that decision making is not delayed.
He also advised ministry officials to be punctual and dispose of work in a time-bound manner.
Prasad, who carried out an inspection of the Legal Affairs and Legislative Department in Shastri Bhavan here, expressed deep anguish at the state of the library.
The Minister directed that the library be updated with latest books, law journals and publications and its upkeep improved to make it more valuable.
He directed that file keeping should be more systematic. As per the existing government policy, old files should be destroyed periodically so that office space can be used more efficiently.
Prasad emphasised that a presentable and efficient working environment was needed and asked all concerned to take necessary steps to rectify deficiencies that have been pointed out by him, a statement from the ministry said.
