Jabalpur: A student on Wednesday jumped off the first floor of his school building and suffered injuries after he was allegedly scolded by the principal.
Atul Singh, a class XI student of Saint Gabriel School at Ranjhi near Jabalpur, took the step after he was scolded by principal George Joseph for some wrongdoing in the classroom, city superintendent of police Guruprasad Parasher said.
Singh, who received injuries to his hands and feet, has been admitted in a hospital. Police have started investigation in the case, he said.
Following the incident, suspected Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) activists ransacked the school, source said.
Principal Joseph couldn't be contacted despite repeated attempts.
