In an incident of firing over land dispute in Bihar, a man shot dead two persons and injured three others in Chaughara village under Kudra police station area in Kaimur district on Tuesday, a police official said.
Apparently taking exception to intervention of his relatives in a land dispute within the family, a man Sitaram Pathak fired indiscriminately on five people. Two of whom died on the spot and three three sustained injuries, Superintendent of Police Ratnamani Sanjeev said.
The deceased duo were identified as Chunnu Upadhyaya and Nandu Upadhyaya, he said, adding the bodies have been sent for post-mortem.
The injured persons, Bindu Pathak, Sribhagwan Pathak and Santosh Upadhyaya - were taken to a government hospital for treatment, Sanjeev said.
A case has been registered in this connection and an investigation was being carried out, he said, adding that the accused man has been arrested with the weapon
