One day after he addressed five rallies in poll-bound Chhattisgarh to garner votes for BJP ahead of assembly elections, BJP prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi continued the fight against Congress alive as he reached Raigarh on Friday to address yet another public rally.

Overwhelmed with huge crowd which had gathered to listen to his speech, he said "I have visited Raigarh several times, inspite of the scorching heat there is huge crowd, I haven't seen such a huge crowd before. Your love toward BJP has brought you here."

"You can curse Modi, but can’t wilt the lotus that has bloomed in people’s hearts in this state," Modi said to the supporters.

Once again, attacking Congress, Modi said they were busy tracking two things- Modi and gold. "Congress doesn't have time to work for the people. They have recruited thousands of people to keep a track of where and what Modi is doing. Apart from me, they are interested in finding gold," he said.

"Who has the responsibility to fight against terrorism? Vajpayee ji's government made a law against terror, who destroyed that law? Congress government destroyed it," he said while taking potshots at Congress president Sonia Gandhi.

"The work done by Chhattisgarh farmers has received an award from the PM. Some leaders allege that Chhattisgarh government pays money to get awards. So if the PM gave an award then who received the money?," he said asking Sonia Gandhi to make statement only after verifying her facts. Sonia Gandhi had accused Chhattisgarh government of corruption during her election rally speech.

He also slammed the Congress government for disrespecting well-known singer also known as the nightingale of India- Lata Mangeshkar.Recently, her appearance with Modi had left Congress red-faced, so much so that Congress president professor Janardhan Chandurkar had threatened agitation if Lata Mangeshkar didn't surrender her Bharat Ratna and Padma awards.

"I was travelling across Chhattisgarh on Thursday. It seems there's a BJP wave in the state. Ramanji's govt has worked hard for development of farmers. Can any one call Chhattisgarh 'bimaru'? Who brought this change? It was Dr Raman Singh," Modi said while simultaneously hitting out at Congress for "making people suffer when Chhattisgarh was part of MP". "

"For corruption-free India, we need Congress-free India. Gujarat has developed because every time people there chose BJP, we have a policy of pro-development," he added.

Further attacking Sonia Gandhi in the wake of recent terror attacks at the LOC which claimed the lives of many jawans, Modi said "Madam Soniaji, your government gave freedom to terrorists and then you claim Naxalism is prevalent because of Raman Singh. You indulge in wrong things and then blame us," he said.

After Sonia Gandhi, he attacked Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi for his 'I want to make a change' statement. "These days Shezada says he wants to change the system. I want to ask who governed the country for 60 years ? It was Congress and it is the Congress that has made the system," Modi said.

Furious over SP leader Naresh Agarwal's 'tea-seller' remark that stirred up controversy, he said that it is for the people to decide whether a tea seller should be a PM or not. "I think a tea seller PM is better than the one who who sells the country," he said.

Kickstarting the first out of his five rallies on Thursday in poll-bound Chattisgarh, Narendra Modi had launched an all-out attack on Congress, especially 'Madam' (Sonia Gandhi) and 'Shehzada' (Rahul Gandhi), accusing them of being an expert in making empty promises, cheating people of Chhattisgarh and making back-door agreements with Naxal forces. He continued the same pitch against Congress on Friday.

The intensive campaign by Modi is seen as a spirited fight by BJP against Congress ahead of assembly elections in Chhattisgarh. The first phase of pollig in the state ended on November 11 amid Maoist boycott. The second phase is scheduled for November 19.
