BANGALORE: It is not just Bangalore, all of Karnataka is in the grip of a cold wave, none more telling as the minimum temperature recorded in Belgaum Airport on Friday, at 9.5 degrees Celsius, six degrees below  the normal temperature. As per statistics available with the state Meterological Department, this was the lowest minimum temperature recorded in the state this season. “A further cold wave is expected over interior north Karnataka in the next two-three days. We are expecting cloudy weather in the city as well. This would lead to a dip in the day temperature too, said director of Meterological Centre of IMD, Bangalore, B Puttanna.He added that the minimum temperature recorded in Bangalore on Friday, 13.3 degree Celsius, was two degrees below normal. “On Friday, minimum temperatures showed a change across the state, and were markedly below normal at a few places over north interior Karnataka, below normal at most places over south interior Karnataka and normal over coastal Karnataka,” he elucidated.Meanwhile, as per a forecast of the Meterological Department, mainly dry weather would prevail over all districts of coastal, north and south interior Karnataka for the next few days. However, due to the easterly wave, cold wave conditions is expected at isolated places in the state, such as north interior Karnataka during the next two days.
