Bail pleas of Prabhu Daya crew rejected

ALAPPUZHA: Ambalappuzha Chief Judicial First Class Magistrate V Udayakumar on Wednesday rejected the bail pleas of the crew of mv Prabhu Daya, who were arrested by the Ambalappuzha police earlier. Captain of the ship Gordon Charles Pereira, first officer Prasobh Sugathan and seaman Mayur Virendra Kumar had filed an application seeking bail in the court. The court dismissed the petition.Prasobh is the first accused in the case in which Prabhu Daya, a merchant vessel, hit a fishing boat - Don I - which killed five fishermen on March 1.
