Islamabad: Two armed men tried to sneak into the premises of Pakistan's spy agency ISI near the official residences of senior Army officers in the garrison city of Rawalpindi but were their attempt was foiled by a vigilant security guard, according to media reports on Monday.
The reports said the incident occurred last night near Hamza Camp, one of the main facilities of the Inter-Services Intelligence agency in Rawalpindi.
A security guard said his colleague, Mohammad Sarfaraz, who was deployed at the facility, spotted two men trying to enter it.
When the men saw Sarfaraz, they opened fire at him. Sarfaraz returned fire, forcing the men to flee. He could not say if any of the attackers was hit.
Sarfaraz then sounded an alert and army, police and intelligence personnel cordoned off the facility and launched a search. However, the two men could not be found.
An FIR regarding the incident was later filed at the Civil Lines police station.
