HYDERABAD: The APTransco has been awarded as the Best Performing State Utility in the country in Category III (Utilities— T&D) for the Fifth Enertia Awards-2011 for excellence in operation and reducing the T&D losses from 18.34 percent to 17.76 percent in 2010-11. The award was received by K Ranganatham, joint managing director, APTransco at a function held in Mumbai. The Transmission losses in AP for 2010-11 were at 4.48 percent as against 4.68 percent in the previous year. The 99.89 percent system availability of the APTransco remains highest in the country with a low power transformer failure rate of 1.53 percent, the lowest in the country. The 10-member selection panel hailed the AP power utilities for sustained efforts to improve their performance.
