HYDERABAD: The scheduled second postmortem on the body of late Anil Reddy (35), a budding Tollywood music director who died under suspicious circumstances three months ago, was deferred indefinitely by the Osmania General Hospital (OGH) doctors after objections were raised by the victim’s friends on Monday.A few days ago, Cyberabad police decided to conduct a second postmortem on the body of Anil after police found a discrepancy in cause of death in the post mortem reports submitted by doctors of the Gandhi hospital and Apollo hospital. The Apollo hospital doctors had earlier declared that Anil died because of a heart attack. But the post mortem report by Gandhi hospital doctors named the cause of death as a head injury.Anil was found dead on April 21 near the residence his fiance Shalini, a model, at Pupalaguda. On that night, Anil, Shalini and her mother Nagamani went out to have dinner. “After dropping Shalini and her mother at their residence, Anil collapsed in the car outside,” police said. His body was later buried at Boiguda crematorium by his family members. But Prakash Reddy, Anil’s brother, developed suspicions after reading the SMSes shared between Anil and Shalini on Anil’s mobile. On June 25, Anil’s body was exhumed after his family members raised doubts over his death and a postmortem was conducted. But the doctors of the two hospitals gave contradictory reports.A decision was taken to consult forensic experts at OGH. But the OGH doctors said that they could only give their opinion after conducting a second postmortem. But Anil’s friends objected to it and demanded the presence of independent doctors during the postmortem.Meanwhile, Shalini has been maintaining that she is innocent and is blaming Prakash Reddy and his family members for unnecessarily dragging her into a controversy.
