Islamabad: Former Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif's party PML-N has claimed that disgraced nuclear scientist Abdul Qadeer Khan is in a critical condition and accused the government of "endangering" his life.
PML-N Joint Secretary Siddiqul Farooque said Khan had sent a message to his friends on Monday, saying he was "in a tight squeeze". Khan, who is suffering from prostrate cancer, recently underwent an opeartion.
Accusing the government of having adopted a course which has endangered the life of the nuclear scientist, he said, "If Khan dies, it will be an unnatural death and logically, Gen Musharraf will be responsible for that".
