In the era of enterprising business ventures, here is another attempt that gives the people of City of Pearls a taste of authentic Irish pub experience.Ideally located in the heart of Hitec City is Shamrock - The Irish Bar, which apart from all the draught Irish favourites, also provides great ambience.Owned by Nagendra Prasad Juluru, Shrikant Chira and Nitin Chakra, Shamrock caters to employees working in the numerous multi-national companies situated in the vicinity.Explaining about the idea behind starting Shamrock, Nagendra says, “Shamrock started with an idea, to create a place where one could walk in for a drink with friends amid great music to re-live some good old times.” The trio are also the joint managing directors of Strings Hospitality Services.“We had been in the US for the last five years. And during our stay there, we often frequented Irish restaurants. The whole experience of the Irish cuisine, along with some of the best liquor was just amazing. We wanted people of Hyderabad to also get a feel of it,” Nagendra explains.Nice, cosy and green, the walls of Shamrock have many photo frames, that take you back to the 70s and 80s Europe.Design and ambienceThe interiors of Shamrock was designed by a Hyderabad-based interior designer Vinod Bachala, to create a laid-back and friendly setting.Elaborating more on this, Nitin Chakra, co-owner of Shamrock, points out, “The furniture, the bar counters, the seating, everything is very much similar to an Irish pub. When we came up with this idea of setting up Shamrock, we travelled to Ireland to get a feel of the authentic Irish experience.Pubs in Ireland are not about looking elegant or rich or even fancy. It’s just about having a comfortable time with much more comfortable seating.” The purpose, according to him, is to let “people come here for a nice break.” Food and drinksIrish cuisine is probably the most unexplored cuisine in Hyderabad.Shamrock has an array of starters ranging from Bangers to Grilled Irish Chicken Sausages, Chicken Breasts with Apple Cherry, Cheese-Stuffed Herb Chicken, Pollo Panna e Funghi and Herbed Mustard Chicken, while the main course starts off with Irish Corned Chicken Dinner, Chicken Pot Roast with beans and red wine and Chicken and Leek Casserole.“The menu has been designed by chef Kevin Ryan from Ireland,” Nagendra says.Well, looks like the vegetarians do not have much of a choice.
