TIRUNELVELI: The chairman of the Central expert committee on the Koodankulam Nuclear Power Plant (KKNPP), A E Muthunayagam, has stated that the team is preparing a 80-page document containing a lot of technical information about the KKNPP, which would be submitted at the meeting on Thursday.The first phase of talks between the Central expert committee and the State panel was held in Tirunelveli on November 8, while the second phase of talks, which subsequently failed, was conducted on November 18. Despite the second round of talks ending in failure, the protesters would be participating in the third round slated to be held at around 11 am on Thursday (December 15), at the Tirunelveli collectorate.The Central expert committee, led by Muthunayagam, had visited Kanyakumari and held discussions for the past two days.Sources said, around 10 members from the expert committee had reached Kanyakumari, while two members would probably join them at the meeting in Tirunelveli.Muthunayagam told Express, “we are preparing a 80-page document, containing lot of technical information about the Koodankulam plant. It contains factual details, including plant safety, environment, waste treatment, disposal of spent fuel etc. Our main aim is to convey the truth to the people and dispel their false notions and fears.”He said, “we had given a 38-page presentation to the people’s representatives at the last meeting and we are ready to answer their questions at the meeting on Thursday.”
