20-year-old girl jumps off hostel, dies

TIRUCHY: A girl studying in a polytechnic institute in Thuraiyur committed suicide by jumping from the second floor of her college hostel.According to police, X Alice Jennifer (20) had a love affair, to which her family and friends were opposed. However, Jennifer did not pay heed to their advice.On Friday, around 10.30 pm, Jennifer reportedly had an argument in this regard with her parents over phone. Soon after, she ran to the second floor of the hostel, threw away her mobile phone and jumped down. She was rushed to a hospital, where she died without responding to treatment. Police have registered a case.
