After SS Rajamouli’s RRR, fans are eagerly waiting for Jr NTR’s upcoming film Devara. It is gearing up for its theatrical release on April 5 next year. The pan-India film touted to be a high-end action drama is directed by Koratala Siva. Earlier, there were reports which suggested that the film’s digital rights deal had been closed for a huge price.
Netflix is said to have acquired the streaming rights in all languages for a price close to Rs 150 crore. Now, there are new reports of the audio rights being sold for a huge amount. The music has been scored by Anirudh Ravichander. According to the report by Deccan Chronicle, the audio rights have been sold to a label for a whopping Rs 27 crore, which is also the highest for a Telugu film in recent times.
This stands second only to Pushpa: The Rule, the musical rights of which were sold for Rs 45 crore since the album of its first part became a sensation around the world.
A source told the news portal that Jr NTR collaborating with Anirudh Ravichander has surely changed the game and hiked the prices. Anirudh, who is already basking in the massive success of Jailer, Leo and Jawan, is now looking forward to proving his mettle in the Telugu music industry. “He wants to establish that he is the best in the business to dish out foot-tapping numbers and elegant background for big action films and give Telugu composers a run for their money,” the source added.
Devara will be released in two parts. The movie has an ensemble cast that includes Saif Ali Khan in the role of antagonist and Janhvi Kapoor as the female lead. The camera is handled by cinematographer R Ratnavelu while the film’s visuals will be edited by B Sreekar Prasad. The production design has been done by National Award winner Sabu Cyril. The film will released in five languages- Hindi, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada and Tamil.
