Why is My Account Under Review?
Your ID is being verified. If you just created a new account, updated your account, or signed back in for the first time in a long time, they may put your account under review to check your identity. They'll be checking to make sure you are 18 years old or older and that your profile doesn't violate the terms of use.
You may have broken the rules. When you sign up for Tinder, you agree to follow the Community Guidelines and Terms of Use. If you violate any of these agreements, your account may be placed under review to determine if you've been following the rules and what should be done if you have not. They suspect you're underage. Tinder requires you to be 18 or older when you sign up for an account. If they suspect your are underage, they may put your account in review.
There has been suspicious activity from your account. There are certain actions on your account that indicate that your account may be fraudulent. Your account may be placed under review if you engage in the following activities: Swiping right on every profile. If you swipe right on every profile without taking time to think about it, this may be flagged as suspicious. Repeatedly sending the same message to multiple accounts. There are multiple accounts with your information.
You've been reported multiple times. If you've been mass reported or reported by multiple users, Tinder may put your account under review.
You've been banned before. If you have been permanently banned before, Tinder may recognize if you try to create a new account with the same information you used before.
You're using information from a banned account. You may be using a device that's linked to a banned account, or using the same phone number, email address, or profile picture that is from a banned account.
What Happens While Under Review?
You'll receive a notification that your account is under review. You will receive both an email notification and an in-app notification.
You won't be able to swipe. Your ability to swipe on profile will be suspended until the review is complete.
Your matches can't see your profile. Your profile will be invisible until the review is completed.
You won't be able to send or receive messages. You will not be able to message any of your matches, and you will not receive an messages sent to you.
You won't be able to delete your account. If you're hoping to delete your account in order to prevent a ban, you're out of luck. You will not be able to delete your account until the review is complete. You can log in to your account while your are under review, but you will be limited with what activity you can do.
How Long Does a Review Take?
It depends on why your account is under review. It can take anywhere from a few minutes to several days or weeks. If you are waiting for a new account to be verified, it may take a few minutes to several hours. If you violated the community guidelines or terms of use, it make take a few hours to several days. If you have previously been banned or have been reported for serious abuses of the community guidelines or terms of use, it may several days or even weeks
What Can You Do?
Be patient. Unfortunately, there's not much you can do to speed up the process. You'll just have to wait for the review process to conclude. Again, this can take a few minutes to several days or weeks.
Don't create any new accounts. Creating new accounts can complicate the review process and make it take longer. Avoid the temptation to create a new account.
Keep an eye on your email. During the review process, Tinder may contact you and ask you to provide additional information. Keep an eye on your email and check for any emails from Tinder you receive.
Cooperate with Tinder. If Tinder contacts you and asks you to provide any additional information or materials, be polite and cooperate.
Contact customer service. If it's taking longer than expected, you can contact service. You should only do so once. What Happens After a Review?
One of several things can happen. Tinder will contact you after the review and let you know what they decide. A review may result in one of the following actions being taken against your account: You get verified: If they review your account and determine that you did nothing wrong, good news! Your account will be verified. This means you will be given a blue checkmark to indicate that you are a verified user. Your account will be suspended: If it is determined that you violated the terms of use or community guidelines, your account may be temporarily suspended. After which, you will be allowed to return. Your account will be permanently banned. If they determine your violations are egregious enough, your account may be permanently banned. Attempts to create a new account are also likely to result in a ban. You will be shadow-banned. You may be allowed to return to Tinder only to find you're not getting many matches. This may be because you are shadow-banned, and they have restricted the profiles your profile will be shown to. Your are temporarily allowed to return. Some Tinder users have reported that they were allowed to return after a review only to be banned shortly afterwards. It's possible that Tinder may be keeping a close eye on you after a review. Be sure to brush up on the terms of use and community guidelines and make sure you stay well within the rules.
