Keane out of Ireland's qualifier against Austria
Keane, the all-time record scorer for Ireland with 54 goals, was hurt playing in the 0-0 draw at Sweden on Friday

Dublin: Ireland captain Robbie Keane is out of the World Cup qualifier against Austria because of a calf injury. The Los Angeles Galaxy striker had been is in line to play his 124th international in Tuesday's match at Aviva Stadium in Dublin before he was ruled out Sunday following a scan.

Keane, the all-time record scorer for Ireland with 54 goals, was hurt playing in the 0-0 draw at Sweden on Friday. He has been replaced by Wolverhampton Wolves forward Kevin Doyle, who will link up with the 23-man squad for training on Monday.

Ireland forward Jon Walters is also in doubt with a back injury.

Ireland is fourth in Group C of European qualifying, equal on points with Austria but one behind second-place Sweden and five back from leader Germany.
