Liverpool: Liverpool boss Kenny Dalglish has insisted that Luis Suarez has the backing of everyone at the club following an accusation of racism against him by Manchester United defender Patrice Evra.
The French full-back made the allegations of racial abuse following United’s 1-1 draw with the Reds at Anfield last week.
"The only thing we’ll say and then that’s it, put to bed - The football club and everyone at the football club is totally and utterly fully behind Luis Suarez," Dalglish told reporters.
"There was an allegation after the game about him diving all over the place and then the allegation from Patrice Evra, so the two things are quite emotive. We fully support the wee man and everybody at the football club does."
"The football club came out at the start of the week when it was done and made the position known and we won’t be adding to it," he added. "So we fully look forward to a complete, transparent report from the FA and we look forward to co-operating 100 percent."
The Liverpool boss is also happy to have Steven Gerrard back in the starting line-up following a six-month lay-off with a groin injury, and is hopeful the Anfield skipper’s injury problems are behind him.
"Well, he's fit enough to play for us and that's all that concerns us," Dalglish continued. "As we've said many times before, we've waxed lyrical about Steven and what he's done for the club and rightly so. Obviously the more games you play, the fitter you will get. But he's certainly fit enough to be considered to play for us."
"We are absolutely delighted he is where he is. Even more so, that he came back last week and scored a goal. We just hope he gets a run now and a bit of luck."
"We'll help everyone in the best way we can. Whether it's Steven or anyone else. We've got to manage everybody. Glen Johnson has had a tough time as well. He doesn't have the history and tradition that Steven has with the club, but he's still very important to us."
"We have helped Steven and everyone is delighted to be back. Hopefully we are helping Glen, Fabio Aurelio and anyone else who has been out."
