Kolkata: Mohun Bagan were held to a goalless draw by Aryan FC in their last match of the Calcutta Football League (CFL) premier division at the Barasat Stadium on Monday.
Mohun Bagan were also deducted three points by the Indian Football Association (IFA), West Bengal football's governing body, disciplinary committee on Monday for violation of CFL playing rules during their 3-1 win against Tollygunge Agragami on August 28.
Mohun Bagan had no Under-23 players playing for them for the last four minutes of the game. Current rules state that each team has to have an U-23 footballer playing for the entire duration of the match.
The city heavyweights, thus, finish their campaign with just 15 points from their 10 outings. Aryan will face Tollygunge in their last game on Wednesday. East Bengal won the tournament.
In the game on Monday, the green and maroon brigade were able to create a lot of chances, but failed to break the dead lock.
Mohun Bagan's Japanese medio Katsumi Yusa and Nigerian forward Dudu Omagbemi both tried their luck with free-kicks and snapshots but Aryan FC goalkeeper Priyant Singh was equal to the task.
Aryan had their moments too infront of goal, but some poor finishing let them down.
