Karan Kundrra Feels ‘People Assume Actors Are Disloyal’, Calls It 'Absurd, Senseless’ | Exclusive
Karan Kundrra speaks about image of infidelity among actors and how they're wrongly perceived. He also speaks about how he acts as a love guru for his friends.

It’s no secret that actors are often made soft targets and get embroiled in controversies pertaining to their love life related choices from time to time. The latest example is Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone, who came under scrutiny for opening up on having an open relationship prior to their engagement, when they appeared in the latest season of Koffee With Karan. And with social media further milking conjectures about an actor’s love life, break-up and infidelity, the spotlight on their life has become more profound than ever.

In an exclusive chat with News18 Showsha recently, Karan Kundrra admits that actors are often perceived to be a disloyal herd. Though he remains unfazed by conversations, constant speculations and scrutiny on his relationships over the years, he reacts to the ‘absurdity’ of the image of unfaithfulness and frivolity thrust on actors.

He tells us, “I think corporate people cannot be loyal. People assuming that actors are disloyal is as absurd as my thought about the corporate world. It’s a senseless belief. It’s a personal choice. Actors are also human. There’s no reason why we would be perceived as people who cannot stay loyal.”

Karan adds that it’s not the only assumption made about actors. Talking about how people think and claim that being an actor is an easy-breezy cakewalk, he elaborates, “It’s like, you’re actually disrespecting anyone who’s going outside their comfort zone and making a career for themselves. People also assume that actors don’t work hard enough. I, in fact, think that our lives are worse because we don’t know what we will do next. We don’t have permanent jobs or run full-time businesses.”

However, the Thank You For Coming actor agrees that cheating has become rampant and that actors aren’t the only ones engaging in infidelity. Quiz him if he feels dating apps have further enabled it and he states, “People who intend to cheat on their partners can do so even without the instant availability of dating apps. And those who don’t have any intention of cheating won’t do it despite the presence of such apps. It’s very easy to blame other people and circumstances.”

For Karan, taking responsibility for actions – good or bad – is key in a relationship. “Dating apps is just an excuse used by people. It’s human nature to not take responsibility four our actions. Apps aren’t the only place where you get options. You can get options at work place and social media too,” says the 39-year-old, who often makes headlines for his relationship with his girlfriend Tejasswi Prakash.

The TV star, who is currently hosting Temptation Island, also reveals that he has made many mistakes in his past relationships. Prod him further and he remarks, “My friends call me for advice on love. They think I’m very wise. I help them see the other side of the situation by showing them the mirror. I can tell them how to navigate relationship issues because I’ve made similar mistakes like them.”
