A new era under Gautam Gambhir as the Head Coach of the Indian team has begun with the Men in Blue beginning their training ahead of their upcoming T20I series against Sri Lanka in Pallekele.
A video released by the Board of Control for Cricket in India’s (BCCI) official handle on X shows glimpses of India’s training session. The newly appointed head coach will look to begin his stint on a positive note.
The video also shows moments where Gambhir can be seen interacting with the players. He looks to have had a chat with the all-rounder Shivam Dube and was seen giving batting tips to Sanju Samson as well.

The upcoming T20I series will also be a big one for Suryakumar Yadav who will be India’s captain in the shortest format. He was also seen having a chat with Shubman Gill and the others regarding their plans for the upcoming games.

All of India’s T20I games will be in Pallekele following which the team will travel to Colombo for the ODI series. Indian skipper Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli would likely arrive before their 50-over games.
The series will be a big one for young guns like Riyan Parag and Harshit Rana. Parag has been called up for both ODI and T20I squads while Harshit has been called up for the former. It will be pivotal for both players to make their experience count should they get the nod to start against Sri Lanka.
It will be fairly interesting to see how Gambhir would line up his sides for the upcoming games, he has a plethora of talent to select from and his picks will certainly raise eyebrows regarding the brand of cricket he would want to play during his stint as Head Coach of the Indian team.
