New Delhi: The Ruias got roses and how! The CEO of Vodaphone, Arun Sarin delivered them to their doorstep himself.
Of course wooing the Ruias - 33 per cent stakeholders in mobile firm Hutch-Essar - was not the only reason why Sarin was there.
He was also trying to iron out earlier differences as Essar has been upset over Vodafone's announcement on network sharing with rival Bharti Airtel without consulting the group.
The result was expected. "We are not going to exit the business. We will run it together," Essar Group Vice Chairman Ravi was quoted by news agency PTI as saying after he a two-and-a-half hour meeting with Sarin.
The Vodafone chief on his part said that said he respected the Ruias as partners and that the two would take the business forward together.
"I know Ruias from long ago. I respect their partnership. They have created value in the business. We are now trying to iron out issues and will take the business forward together," he was quoted by PTI as saying.
