No plans to raise equity now: VSNL
VSNL expects data services to contribute $600-$700 million in FY07, while voice business would contribute $1.1 billion.

New Delhi: The management of VSNL met the press on Thursday and outlined the company's growth plans. CNBC-TV18 reports.

The VSNL management has said that the company is looking to clock revenues of $2.5 billion in FY07.

The company also expects data services to contribute $600-$700 million in FY07, while voice business would contribute $1.1 billion.

The management also said that they expect international revenues to contribute to 50 per cent of total revenues next year.

The company's management plans to invest Rs 1,000 crore in capex, while Rs1, 000 crore would be invested in broadband. VSNL's FY07 operating revenue is seen at Rs 9,000 crore versus Rs 3,781 crore (year over year).

Tyco and Teleglobe would turn profitable for the company by FY08, the management said.

NLD in South Africa is expected to start in two-three months. Also, data, voice services in South Africa is expected to start by the year-end, the management announced.

Discussing growth and acquisitions, the management said that it expects a double-digit growth in wholesale voice business of the company over two-three years.

Though the management confirmed that the company is not planning any big acquisitions, they denied commenting on the smaller ones. They also confirmed that the company does not plan to raise equity now.
