New Delhi:State-run Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd has bagged an order from Tata Power Company to set up a 250 MW thermal power plant in Maharashtra.
As per the contract, BHEL would design, manufacture, supply, test and commission a 250 MW thermal power plant at Tata Power's Unit-8 in Trombay, a BHEL release said.
The public sector firm won the contract under competitive bidding procedure, where it had to face stiff competition from Chinese and Korean equipment providers, BHEL said.
The equipment would be manufactured at BHEL's Haridwar, Trichy, Hyderabad, Bangalore, Bhopal and Jhansi plants while the company's Power Sector Western Region would be responsible for commissioning, the release said.
Presently, BHEL is executing orders for two units each of 250 MW capacity thermal power plants at Korba East, Lehra Mohabbat, Bhilai, Mejia and Chanrapura, and one unit each at Parli, Paras and Santaldih, it added.
