Tata Sierra Production-Spec Model Digitally Rendered Based on Concept Showcased at Auto Expo
Tata Motors surprised everyone when they showcased the Tata Sierra Concept at the Auto Expo 2020 with a fully electric powertrain.

Tata Motors surprised many when they showcased the Tata Sierra Concept at the Auto Expo 2020. The company’s fully electric concept vehicle shown at Auto Expo was a homage to the original Sierra SUV that was first launched in 1995. While the homegrown automaker’s concept vehicle will not make it to production, the company had previously said that if the Sierra nameplate is revived, the SUV will be offered with both petrol and diesel options.

The Sierra Concept did leave a mark on people’s hearts and minds, as the vehicle retained the original boxy design, alpine windows among others, to wish Tata fructifies its production soon. As it is evident that the new Sierra may not see the light of the day anytime soon, however, it hasn’t stopped auto designers to imagine and offer their version of the Sierra if ever it is a possibility. One such render produced by Praveen C. John has been shared on the Vandibhranthanmar Facebook group.

The rendered vehicle is finished in Blue, whereas the Concept version was white at the 2020 Auto Expo. While the designer retained the original boxy design just like original, the front sports a honeycomb grille on which the Tata badge sits. It also gets LED Daytime Running Lamps (DRL) placed within the headlamps to give it an aggressive look. It also houses LED fog lamps that are placed in vertical housings with a piano-black surround. The vehicle’s front bumper features a skid plate in the lower half and three air scoops appear instead of an air dam. A sculpted bonnet is also sculpted for a more muscular look.

The profile features stylish alloy wheels. Its B and D pillars of the render are finished in the same body colour, while its A and C pillars appear finished in black. The wing mirrors also sport a black treatment and have the turn indicators placed on them. Among other similarities was the huge glass area that should make it drive easy. The designer had also given cladding all over the side profile and also left the tailgate flat just like on the Sierra Concept.

The rendering differs on one point as the Sierra Concept was a 2-door design, whereas the new render shows it with four doors making it a lot more practical.
