Lexus Unveils RC F and GS F Special Editions, Celebrates 10 Years of F Performance Brand
Both cars will be on display at the upcoming Chicago Auto Show (February 10-19), and they'll be available to buy from the summer, although pricing has yet to be announced.

It's now a decade since Lexus launched its F performance brand in some considerable style with the V-8-powered IS F, and to mark the occasion the luxury arm of Toyota is bringing us a couple of special edition models that are also powered by fabulous V-8s. Although there will be no performance upgrades to speak of, the RC F and GS F special editions are going to be extremely visually striking thanks to a number of rather unique styling enhancements.

The pair of them will only come in one color, but that shouldn't be an issue as it's an appealing matte-finish paint called Nebula Grey. Apart from the LFA, the RC F and GS F special editions will be the only models in the Lexus lineup to feature any type of matte-finish paint. To complement the stunning paint job, the cars will also feature gloss black wheels and bright blue brake calipers to match the signature colors of the F brand.

But the exterior is only the start of the styling enhancements of these two special edition V-8s. Everywhere you look there will be blue highlights, and both cars get bright blue leather upholstery with grey accents, blue gear sticks, and window switch panels adorned with silver, blue and carbon-fiber finishes. Even more blue carbon trim has been used on the center console, and there's also some very blue suede dash trim and even blue seatbelt straps. There's even more blue leather trim on the steering wheel, but those going for the GS F won't get the same embossed headliner as found in the RC F.

Of course, the production runs of these very special cars will be extremely limited. In fact, just 240 units of the RC F will be built, and that unusual number has been chosen because that's how many Lexus dealers there are in the United States. But if getting one of those is going to be tough, it's going to be even harder to get a GS F because Lexus is only building 100 of them.

Both cars will be on display at the upcoming Chicago Auto Show (February 10-19), and they'll be available to buy from the summer, although pricing has yet to be announced.
