For the last fifteen days or more, 'Bajrangi Bhaijaan' is the only word that Salman Khan fans have been religiously chanting. The online tsunami has built an unprecedented hype over Kabir Khan directed comedy thriller, which has become nothing less than a festival.
'Wanted', 'Dabangg', 'Kick' and 'Ek Tha Tiger', over the years several of Salman’s film has released on Eid, capturing the festive mood of the audience for maximum gain at the box office. But, now the hype over Salman’s film has reached such an unprecedented level that the release of the film itself seems to be a festival for his fans.
The hysterical worshiping and impatient countdown for the trailer release was definitely the first that the film loving nation saw in recent times.
Online frenzy with trending hashtags #Bajrangibhaijaancomingsoon, #WaitingForBBthisEid, #AmazingBBtrailer and finally #BajrangiBhaijaanTrailerDay elevated a curiosity. Salman built anticipation around the trailer with a trail of rapid fire tweets, which has been bombarded since last one month and will continue for the coming time till the film finally captures number of screens on July 18.
It will surely not end here, as the PR driven activities will promptly shift on spreading out day by day box office collections.
His films have nothing new to offer or shall we believe that his fans do not wish to see anything different in his film.
The ‘paisa vasool’ entertainment is all about dance, action, bit of romance and a few song-dance—this is all that his core fan base wants from all his films. His humour, his dressing sense, his dances-- everything is targeted towards his loyal audience. Little wonder that meaningless lyrics such as Selfie le le re, becomes an anthem in no time.
Pavan Kumar Chaturvedi, Salman’s character is the new messiah giving out message of secularism. A film featuring a Muslim actor, who follows all the religion, called himself an ‘Indian’ in the court during hit and run trial, recites Hanuman Chalisa effortlessly as a devout worshipper of Hanuman worshipper, in the trailer. He sports a chain which has a pendant in the shape of Lord Hanuman’s mace and prays every now and then –‘hanumanji madad karenge na’. What could possibly more filmy than Salman Khan himself?
The trailer reveals Kareena Kapoor as Rasika, Nawazuddin Siddiqui as ISI agent playing Salman’s friend and Harshaali Malhotra as the lost girl from Pakistan are a few extra ingredient that has been incorporated to give a proper frame to Bajrangi Bhaijaan.
For years to come, 'Bajrangi Bhaijaan' will also be remembered for Khan-bhaichara, for this was the film which brought together three big boys of Bollywood. The first look of the film was tweeted by bête noire Shah Rukh Khan, lauded by Aamir Khan is another tweet and finally released by Salman. This was followed by end of tweet war between Shah Rukh’s fan club vs Salman’s fan club. So much so that Salman had even threatened to quit twitter if any of his fans ever made a nasty comment against any actor. The message was loud and clear that it is much sweeter than Rajshri’s 'Hum Saath Saath Hai' for the Khans.
‘Mission Pakistan’ is crucial for the audience from both the sides. It stemmed from the film getting threats from religious group for promoting ‘love jehad’ and now it turns out that it is nothing but yet another attempt to Salman as the biggest saviour.
