Volvo has been a talking point for the past couple of months in India. The company recently launched the XC90 T8 Excellence Hybrid in India at a price tag of Rs 1.25 Crore.
The Swedish automaker is set to launch their next offering into the Indian market in the form of the Volvo S90 Sedan. And here's what you need to know.
The S90 will replace Volvo's current S80 sedan model and will join the company's current lineup in the country, which includes the S60, V40, S60 Cross Country, V40 Cross Country, XC60 and the XC90.
The Volvo S90 is expected to be priced in the Rs 55-60 lakh price bracket, which will make it compete with the likes of the Mercedes-Benz E-Class, BMW 5-Series and the Audi A6.
Interestingly, if you look at the dimensions of all these cars, then the S90 comes out to be the longest in length.
The Volvo S90 sedan is based on the Scalable Product Architecture (SPA) technology.
The Volvo S90 is the second model to be rolled out by Volvo ever since the company was acquired by the Chinese automaker Geely.
The Indian variant of the S90 is expected to be the top-end trim Inscription initially, and the company is expected to bring the 235 horsepower 'D5' variant with all-wheel drive is expected to be launched later.
Being a Volvo, the car is expected to get the usual host of goodies like Bowers & Wilkins sound system, navigation, climate control and touchscreen infotainment systems at the front as well as behind the front seat for rear passengers.
Now, the big question. When will it launch?
As of now, there has been no official announcement by Volvo but the dealers have reportedly started accepting bookings. The car is expected to be launched in India in the first half of November 2016.
