Amber Luke, 29, possibly the world’s most tattooed woman, announced that she will be getting her eyeballs inked again despite going blind for three weeks the first time she underwent the dangerous procedure.
The Australian has spent over $25,000 on more than 600 tattoos that cover her body. Her friends call her the “Blue Eyed White Dragon”.
Amber has also spent more than $70,000 on extreme body modifications. She has had her tongue split, breasts augmented, cheeks and lips filled. She also has pointed implants placed in her ears and a Brazilian butt lift.
She lost her eyesight for three weeks when she inked her eyeballs bright blue. “The reason I’m doing this is because I was so botched in the first place I do not ever want to experience that again,” she told podcaster Robbie Von
“People say, “Why the hell would you put yourself through that again, knowing that that could be a risk?” But there is actually no risk if it’s done correctly,” she added.
She revealed that the tattoo artist “went too deep” into her eyeball which led to temporary blindness.
“I can’t even begin to describe to you what the feeling was like, the best thing I can give you is once the eyeball was penetrated with the ink, it felt like [the tattoo artist] grabbed 10 shards of glass and rubbed it in my eye,” she said.
“That happened four times per eye, that was pretty brutal. Unfortunately, my artist went too deep into my eyeball,” she told the podcaster, explaining what went wrong with her procedure.
She said that she is excited to give it another try because the procedure will make her eyeball emit ‘nebula galaxy effects’. “I’m adding two pinpoints of black ink to each eyeball. My eyes are solid blue at the moment, with my iris being brown. It will look kind of like a nebula galaxy effect of an eyeball,” she further added.
She began experimenting with body modifications at 16 after she was diagnosed with depression. She also suffered from insecurities and felt that tattooing her entire body would help her be the best version of herself.
“I’m not harming anyone. I’m doing what I want to do and if it makes me get up in the morning and be a happy person, then so be it,” she said.
