World's First Passenger Drone Completes its Test Flight in China
EHang CEO Hu Huazhi conducted the first manned flight test of the drone in Guangzhou to prove that the multirotor aircraft to thwart safety concerns.

New Delhi: China's smart drone specialist EHang Inc. unveiled footage of the first test flight of its passenger aircraft EHang 184 on Tuesday.

EHang CEO Hu Huazhi conducted the first manned flight test of the drone in Guangzhou to prove that the multirotor aircraft was safe. During is maiden public flight, Huazhi got into the small cabin and fastened her seat belts, then the automated flight system helped her take off.

According to reports, the EHANG 184 series runs on electric batteries and it can carry one person weighing up to 100 kilograms at a time. The drone can cruise at an altitude of 500 meters and fly at a maximum speed of 100 kilometers per hour for 25 minutes.

The drone can withstand moderate gales with winds of up to 50 kilometers per hour, the Chinese manufacturer claimed.

In 2017, the city of Dubai had announced a plan to cooperate with EHang to develop self-flying taxis taking people across the city.
